Therapeutic Supports

People First Solutions therapy offer counselling as a type of support that involves talking with a trained professional to help participant understand and cope with their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It can help participants and their families to understand and manage the impact of the disability on their lives, and to develop strategies for coping with the challenges that may arise in the participants life.

Our trained professionals will work with the individual and their family to develop a plan that addresses the specific needs and goals of the individual.

The goal of NDIS our counselling services is to support participants and their families to improve their mental health and well-being, and to develop the skills and strategies they need to manage the impact of the disability on their lives.

 

Our counselling services can help with:

  • Managing stress and anxiety

  • Coping with the emotional impact of a disability

  • Building resilience

  • Improving relationships

  • Developing problem-solving and communication skills

  • Addressing specific issues such as trauma or grief.

Accommodation & Tenancy Assistance

Accommodation and tenancy assistance is one of the services that may be provided through the NDIS to support participants to live independently in their own home.

​

Accommodation and tenancy assistance is a service that helps participants to find, maintain and modify their home to meet their needs. This can include things like:

​

  • Finding and securing an appropriate home

  • Modifying the home to make it accessible, such as installing ramps or handrails.

  • Helping with paying rent and utility bills on time

  • Providing support to understand and maintain a tenancy agreement.

 

Tenancy assistance is designed to help people with disabilities to have the same opportunities as other people to live in the community, in a home that suits their needs and preferences.

Outreach Programs & Activities

The People First Outreach and activity programs is a service that may be provided through the NDIS to support participants to engage in activities and participate in their community.

Our outreach program is designed to help participants to access community activities and resources.

 

These programs can include things like:

  • Support for social and recreational activities

  • Assistance with travel and transport

  • Help with accessing community services and resources.

  • Assistance with shopping and other errands

One on One Support

One-on-one disability support is a type of service that provides individualised assistance and support to people with disabilities. This type of support is tailored to the specific needs and goals of the individual and is provided on a one-to-one basis.

​

One-on-one support can help individuals with disabilities to:

  • Develop and maintain daily living skills.

  • Access education and employment opportunities

  • Participate in community activities.

  • Manage their physical, emotional and mental health.

  • Live independently

 

Examples of one-on-one support include:

  • Personal care assistance, such as help with bathing, dressing, and grooming.

  • Assistance with meal preparation and feeding.

  • Assistance with transportation and mobility

  • Assistance with medication management

  • Assistance with communication and language development

  • Assistance with managing challenging behaviours.

  • Assistance with managing finances and budgeting

 

Depending on the supports, our One-on-one support will be provided by our support workers, personal care attendants, or and social workers. We can provide this care either in the participants home or in a community settings such as schools, workplaces, and recreational facilities.

Transition to Home

Our transition to home service helps individuals with a disability to move from institutional care (such as a hospital) to living in their own home or community setting. This may include funding for in-home care services, modifications to your home to make it more accessible, and support for daily living activities.

 

At People First Solution Therapy, our goal is to help you to live as independently as possible, while still receiving the support you need to live safely and comfortably in your own home. We tailor the level of support we provide based on your specific requirements so you are receiving care that is unique to you and maximises your funding.

Respite & Accommodation

Our Respite and Accommodation services provides individuals with disabilities, and their carers, to have a break from their usual care arrangements. This can include short-term accommodation in a respite facility, in-home respite care, or support for a carer to take a break while the individual with a disability is cared for by someone else.

​

This can be a great time to live short-term in a new environment, meet new people, try new activities and enjoy a brand new experience. We make sure that we follow your care plan so that you still receive the same high-quality level of care and that you are as comfortable with us as you are with your usual carer.

Activity Planning & Support

We are here to help you get out and about, and to try new activities that are of interest to you. We are here to help you participate in activities that you enjoy and that promote your physical, mental and social well-being.

This can include funding for personal care and support services, such as assistance with transportation, as well as funding for activities such as sport, art, music and other leisure activities.

Additionally, we can provide support for the coordination and planning of these activities, such as help finding suitable activities and arranging transport. Through this service we aim to help you to lead a fulfilling life and participate in your community by providing the necessary support and funding to enable you to engage in activities you enjoy.

Humanity & Therapeutic Support

Our Humanity and Therapeutic Support service is designed to provide support to help you to improve your mental and emotional wellbeing. This can include funding for therapy and counselling services, such as psychological therapy, art therapy, and occupational therapy, as well as funding for social and community-based activities that promote mental health and well-being.

Additionally, we can provide support for the coordination and planning of these services, such as help finding suitable providers and arranging appointments. Our aim is to help you to improve your mental and emotional well-being by providing the necessary support and funding to access therapy and counselling services that you need, and by providing opportunities for socialisation and community involvement.

Behavioural Management

Behavioural management is a type of therapy that aims to change or improve specific behaviours in individuals with disabilities. It may involve creating a plan to address specific behaviours, such as aggression or self-injury, and then implementing strategies to change or reduce those behaviours.

​

The People First Solutions Therapy Behavioural Management service is provided by a behaviour specialist or therapist, who will work with the participant and their support network to develop a plan to address the specific behaviours. This plan will include strategies and interventions to change or improve challenging behaviours, and may also include training for the participant, their family, and support staff on how to implement the plan effectively.
